Mary Covillaud Elementary is one of the finest schools in the Yuba-Sutter area and we are committed to making a difference with children. Mary Covillaud is recognized by the State of California as a Distinguished School for 2006 and a Title One Academic Achievement School for 2007. We were honored as a school to have front page articles in both "The Sacramento Bee" and "Appeal Democrat" about our successes with children. This past year we reached 865 on the Academic Performance Index. This is the sixth year in a row we have exceeded 800. We are reaching our commitments but we have not quite attained the successes your children deserve. The Yuba-Sutter community has bonded with our school but we need committed parents who want to take part in their child's education to complete our successes. Parents are most welcome as learners and participants in the Mary Covillaud Elementary Community.
One of the attributes that distinguish Mary Covillaud Elementary is our staff. I have observed on many occasions, members of the staff doing caring things for children. The staff is amazing but they continually need your support. I firmly believe the family is the center of learning and not the school. We just want to help you make a difference. Please take advantage of the staff's expertise and all will be successful.
My goal as the Site Principal is to involve home and community with school. Several community organizations have joined Mary Covillaud Elementary in its quesSchoolCenter Picturet for excellence for students. I desire every parent, grandparent, guardian, uncle, and aunt to become involved in his or her child's education. I solicit families to celebrate with us over their children's success. Come by on Friday mornings and observe our Walk of Fame and how we promote student success. I urge everyone to become involved with the various established school organizations. Remember, Coffee or Tea with Mr. E. just to listen to each other's perspectives. I want to do what is best for our students. I am looking forward to the 2013-2014 school year.
